The Celebration of the 175th Anniversary of the Boat Race If anyone has any photos of the evening, please email them to me and I will add them to the SlideShow. (I am not aware of any "Official" Photographs. Did anyone see any photographer in the Painted Hall?) The slideshow is 9.5 MG and may take a little time to open. The Seating Plan and the Menus are smaller; but will also take a little time to open. Please keep in touch and update your email address so that you receive your invitation to the 200th Dinner. Official Photographs of the Top Table (Click on 18/6/04 search results and enter Username boat and password race) Chris Rodrigues' speech There are no more places at the Dinner. The lists are therefore closed (again) I am afraid as at June10 with Light Blues outnumbering the Dark Blues. No Guest Photography will be permitted according to the Palace Press Office. But, thank goodness, a professional photographer will be there. (And I hope more than one.) I understand that photographs will be permitted on the Silver Sturgeon, the Slivver SloeGin, The Silver Splurgeon, the Slivver Slurpgin or whatever it has been named by various respondees to this website. READ THE LETTER ACCOMPANYING YOUR INVITATION By the way, you won't get there unless you have your Invitation and Passport or Drivers Licence with your picture on it. Security will be VERY firm. Some not so Heavies have been unable to arrange their lives to achieve what can be achieved and have had to pull out of the 175th celebrations. There are therefore a handful of seats available. Download the application form and book now! The organisers seem to have properly anticipated out needs. The following refreshments will be available:
A comment from an Archetypal states:
There appears to be some uncertainty in the minds of some (have they been imbibing prematurely?) as to the location of the Savoy Pier. I would guess even from Australia that it is on the Thames somewhere near the Savoy Hotel. For those still in doubt, you can find out by clicking here I am sorry to say that the Dinner is now booked out. To any of you who have missed out, please be patient and await the 200th Anniversary. Why not book now to ensure your place at the dinner? Come and Celebrate the 175th Anniversary
of the Boat Race in style, ease and comfort. Please contact your contemporaries
to make sure they are coming as well. A terrific evening is planned. The Dinner will be in The Painted Hall in Please click
here for information on the Program for the evening. Please click here
to download Application Form for the Dinner. Because of privacy laws I am not able to divulge who
is coming. I have however set out a graph which shows how many
people from each year are coming. (Please click here to view it.)
I have only entered the year where the person has first
rowed for his or her university. The only years where we have
no members attending the Dinner are 1948, 2000 and 2001. You can therefore be rest assured that your contemporaries will be there. Please make sure all your contemporaries and Boat Club
friends are aware of this website giving news
of the 150th Celebrations of the Boat Race. If you have any useful suggestions regarding this website
please let me know. P(atrick)
